Students will learn the process of Paragraphology from its basic beginnings through the five-paragraph essay. They will be immersed in a week of writing through color-coding that begins with the basic paragraph, walks them through the 5 paragraph types (reason, classification, compare/contrast, process), and successfully transitions to the five-paragraph essay. Students will also learn how to unlock writing prompts using color-coding in order to execute an essay. Finally, Paragrapholgy will be used to successfully teach students how to take notes on expository text.
Participants will:
- begin the week by learning Jemicy’s Pargaphology™ color-coding system
- develop a toolbox of manipulative resources that can immediately be used when creating expository writing pieces
- work on the basic five-sentence paragraph, expanded paragraph, and five additional paragraph types
- explore writing five-paragraph essays
